BARISDALE NEWS

There have now been two successive years from January to March of extremely wet and cold weather. This has resulted in erosion on the steeper hill paths.

A top tip if you are walking with walking poles, is to pull out dead grass and material from the top side path drains, especially at the point where the drain runs into a culvert under the path.
If this top drain blocks, the water builds and then runs down the path itself, often destroying it.
The two areas requiring constant maintenance are the Mam Barisdale path and the Glen Underlain path.

All help appreciated!

Numbers visiting have been lower in 2008 but the Stable in particular is proving to be a popular venue.

We are waiting for a satellite broadband link to be installed This will transform the lives of the residents ( mobile phones do not work at Barisdale, communication is by radiophone to Arnisdale)
