Barisdale bothy
welcomes all responsible walkers and climbers and is open all year round.
It is intended as a welcome shelter from bad weather and midges. Although
there is bunk space for up to 12 people it cannot be pre-booked and
operates on a first come first served basis.
The
Bothy:
£3.00 per
person/per night
The
Campsite: £1.00 per
person/per night
Being a privately
owned and managed bothy (not Mountain Bothy Association ) the above tariffs
apply to all visitors using these facilities.
The bothy is
comprised of a communal room, two bunk rooms and two toilets with cold
running water only and electricity provided throughout. Unfortunately, due
to previous irresponsible behavior, there is no fireplace within the
premises.
Campers are
required to use the designated campsite, adjacent to the bothy for joint
use of its facilities, provided to keep the surrounding area clean and
tidy and to minimize disturbance to wildlife.
Please Note : As
there is no rubbish collection at Barisdale, all visitors are required to
remove all their own rubbish on departure.
